Barça had an easy job in Vigo this Tuesday night, after sweeping off the home side’s dreams of a positive result with a clear 0-3 win. With Neymar resting on the bench after his last impressive display at the Camp Nou against Real Madrid, Tato Martino rotated a few more players when going ahead into this game. One of the key changes ended up being Cesc Fabregas, who played in midfield on the position usually taken by Xavi Hernández. Iniesta was also sent to the bench so Fabregas partnered up with Busquets and Song.

The first goal came on very early in the game, after a good pressing job made by Fabregas resulted on a big mistake by Celta‘s defense. The Spanish midfielder would then receive a good through pass by Pedro, tried his luck against Celta‘s goalkeeper but saw his shot being blocked and the ball being dropped just a few meters in front. Alexis Sánchez came like a bolt from behind and easily pushed it to put Barça in front for the first time on the night…

The half-time break brought a revigorated Barça side, determined to settle things for good as soon as possible. In the 48th minute, a good combination between Messi and Song ended up leaving the ball to Fabregas, who then struck the ball without prepration and saw it hitting the crossbar just before bumping into the goalkeeper’s back and going in. That was the goal Barça needed to make sure no surprises would arrive later on.

Just to make sure Celta would have no chances at all of still getting back in the game, Fabregas signed his perfect exhibition on the 54th minute, as he finally scored a goal that was credited under his name. Once again, Messi started up the play, running with the ball for several meters before passing it over to Cesc on the left. The former Arsenal player controllled it easily and struck it with his left foot to make the final 0-3. Barça will now host Espanyol next Friday, as they hope to extend their winning streak in La Liga.
