Cavani warns Europe: Neymar and Mbappé are still improving

Despite having 58 goals in 19 league games, Cavani has stated that Paris Saint-Germain are yet to be at their peak performance and there is more room for improvement. Edison Cavani is warning all defences in France and across Europe that PSG is yet to be at its peak, especially its outstanding frontline.

The Uruguay international Cavani, has bagged 25 goals in 24 games in all competitions before Christmas and could be set to break one of Zlatan Ibrahimović all-time mark for PSG.

During his stay at Paris last season, he has seen the arrival of the expensive duo: Kylian Mbappe (from AS Monaco) and Neymar (from Barcelona). The trio was the driving force of the Parisians and and allowed them to move to the top of the Ligue 1 as well as the UEFA Champions League round of 16, in which they will be facing La Liga giants Real Madrid, with freebets.org offering you the best odds in the Champions League ahead of the clash.

Speaking to PSG’s club magazine via Goal, Cavani said: “I would say we have a good attack, we are talking about two outstanding teammates, but that does not stop me from saying that there is still a lot to improve in our game.”

“We can advance our game. The trident must mature and must consolidate to achieve great things.”

Neymar, who is now Brazil fourth-highest scorer with 53 goals in 83 appearances, broke the transfer record for £200 million from Barcelona in the summer and has proved his worth to the Parisians by netting 17 goals in 20 appearances so far this season. He should surely be bagging more goals by the end of the season…

The Brazilian revealed what the doctors told him after he got injured at his back in the 2014 World Cup: “I didn’t feel my legs, so I went to the hospital inside the stadium.”

“I did the tests, and they told me: ‘I have two types of news. One good and one bad. The bad one is that you can’t play at the World Cup anymore. It’s over for you.” And I’m like: “What’s the good one?”

“The good news is that afterwards, you will be able to walk, because two centimetres to the side and football would be over for you.’

While the France youngster has been in his best form for PSG, he was accused of a dip in his form as he continued to bag only 12 goals in 21 appearances.

Cavani, Neymar and Mbappe in the frontline have proved to be one of the best attacking partnership in Europe, with PSG rising up in Ligue 1 with a 9-point lead and also finishing at the top of the Champions League group stage above Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
