Luis Enrique: “Neymar and Messi are fit to play against Athletic”
Barcelona is getting ready for their return to La Liga and the fans couldn’t have received better news than knowing that both Lionel Messi and Neymar will be fully fit for this weekend’s fixture.
This Saturday afternoon, Barça will host Athletic Bilbao at the Camp Nou and winning that game would allow the Blaugranas to temporarily extend the gap to Real Madrid into a 6-point difference. The Merengues face Atletico Madrid later that day, so at least one Barcelona’s direct rivals will end up losing points…
Luis Enrique: “Neymar is already ready to compete without limitations, but we should get the definitive green light tomorrow… We all know how much of a special player he is and the huge pressure he has been carrying for playing for Brazil and Barcelona. I truly he’ll be able to deal with it in the best way possible and eventually become one of the best players in the world soon…”
Luis Enrique: “Messi is also fit to play against Athletic Bilbao. He has done a few training sessions aside from the group, but he has also done others with the rest of his teammates. I’m very happy with the level of professionalism and commitment he has been showing towards the club”, stated the Spanish coach, in a clear allusion to the fact that Messi decided to stay in Barcelona and not go with Argentina during this last international break.
You can watch Barcelona vs Athletic Bilbao live on Sky Sports 5 this Saturday afternoon, but also Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid later that night. The big game of the weekend though, will be the Arsenal vs Manchester City battle in the Emirates, for the opening round of the Barclays English Premier League.
